Botanical
Garden

This
is the most tourist attracting place of Nilgiris. It sprawls
over 55 acres of rich green lawns and a variety of rare
collection of flora. This garden was laid out in 1847 by
the Marquis of Tweedale. It has been a shooting spot for
film makers for a long time. On the apex of this garden
there lies the famous 'Thodas Mundh' - A Tribal Temple.

Boat House
|

Ooty
lake is another great attraction of Nilgiris. Boating on
this lake along the lush green banks is a life time experience
for the visitors and makes them visit again. Mr.John Sullivan
formed this artificial lake in the year 1824 the then Collector
of Coimbatore. The Ooty lake spreads to an area of 65 acres.

Doddabetta

It is
highest peak (2634 metres) in the Nilgiris and is about
10kms. from Ooty bus stand. The name Doddabetta literally
means 'big mountain' which is so in reality.
It lies at the junction of Western & Eastern Ghats and
offer beautiful vistas of the Nilgiri Hill ranges.

Lake is situated about 21 kms. on the Ooty - Mysore road
of well protected fenced reserved forest. The Pykara Dam,

Ooty Deer Park is near Ooty lake. It is one of the high

The Mukurthi
Peak & Mukurthi National Park is about 40 kms from Ooty.
The Mukurthi National Park is located on the southeastern
corner of the Nilgiris mountains. The area contains a viable
population of Nilgiri Tahr Hamitragus hilocrius.
